“I can’t wait to get to Dunkirk for the start of the first Tour de France for multihulls. We have put together a strong team, mainly with Olympic sailors, and have prepared well. The sailors are part of the nucleus of the Spindrift racing team. Some of them race on D35 Ladycat (powered by Spindrift racing) on Lake Geneva or on the GC32 Spindrift foiling catamaran, which will begin competing on the European GC32 circuit this week in Austria.
In the Diam 24 class, Spindrift racing’s pre-season results are encouraging and we are aiming to win the Tour de France à la Voile. We know it won’t be easy, as the competition on the water will be strong, and the new format, in which the boat is disassembled and reassembled between stages, will make logistics a vital factor for the teams. If we succeed, it will be thanks to the entire team performing best both at sea and on dry land."
*Spindrift racing won the Spi Ouest-France in La Trinité-sur-Mer in early April, then the Grand Prix Atlantique in Pornichet in early May. The team also finished second in the French championship, the Grand Prix de l'École Navale, held in Brest-Lanvéoc in mid-May.”
