April 28, 2014

Wearing her new colours and the names of her new partners, the D35 Ladycat powered by Spindrift racing mark 2014, was back on Lake Geneva last week for the first training session. After the winter break and a complete check up of the frame at the boatyard, the whole Spindrift racing crew took their places on board the 35-foot catamaran. It was an opportunity for Dona Bertarelli, Yann Guichard and the crew to make their first tacks, test the new sails and prepare to compete for the 8th consecutive season in the Vulcain Trophy. The first major event is the Grand Prix des Ambassadeurs from May 9-11.

After the Swiss start, this week the crew will be sailing on board the maxi trimaran in La Trinité-sur-Mer, in a training session with a view to the future North Atlantic record attempt. From the D35 Ladycat to the maxi trimaran Spindrift 2, the diversity of thoroughbreds in the Spindrift racing stable, also pushes everyone to keep pace, boosts experience and strengthens the team spirit with the common goal of continually improving and shining on both circuit.
