During an offshore training session off Brittany last week, the maxi trimaran’s crew detected a technical problem in the rudder which disrupts the smooth running of the multihull. Every effort is being made to solve this setback, which forces the Spindrift racing team to temporarily suspend the stand-by of their Jules Verne Trophy record attempt. As a reminder, the crew was waiting for a favourable weather window to set sail on their third attempt to try and beat the current record set by Francis Joyon, which stands at 40 days 23 hours 30 minutes.
