Spindrift racing were rewarded for their efforts as they sealed victory in the 2015 Tour de France à la Voile this evening in Nice. Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard's team clinched victory after a month of exciting competition aboard the Diam 24 trimaran Spindrift, led by co-skippers Xavier Revil and François Morvan, and accompanied by Thierry Douillard, Frédéric Moreau and Matthieu Vandame.

The nine-stage race from Dunkirk in the north of France to Nice in the south began back on July 3rd. Since then, the crew have had to work hard on both coastal and stadium stages, choosing the best strategies and completing manoeuvre after manoeuvre with clockwork precision. Xavier and François took turns at the helm, both setting themselves high standards. The team overcame challenges along the way and bounced back when required. Another key factor was the excellent logistics work by a strong, highly motivated technical support team, who ensured that the transfers between each stage ran smoothly and that the trimaran was correctly dismantled and reassembled each time. Spindrift racing's professionalism and team spirit on land and at sea drove them to victory.

Xavier Revil, co-skipper:
"In the Tour, you have to keep the right mindset and competitive spirit throughout the three-week race. Spindrift racing did just that throughout the event. The whole team was extremely professional, working as a unit as they prepared for each race day, even through the tough times. Our professionalism kept us going and helped us to remain focused on our objective. When things don't go so well, you have to remain calm and strong. Several times we had to fight to maintain our positions over the finish line, and in the end that proved decisive. It's a fantastic result. The entire team is delighted. Our focus and professionalism have paid off."

François Morvan, co-skipper:
"We battled throughout the Tour. We had a great finish and we won. It's fantastic! The team was well organised and we gave it our all. Sharing the helm with Xavier (Revil) was one of our strengths, because it meant one of us was always fresh. Yann (Guichard) supported us throughout the Tour and called the right strategies. Fred (Moreau) did a great job onshore and at sea; Thierry (Douillard) was strong during the most difficult times, as was Matthieu (Vandame), who was a rock, giving absolutely everything. And at the end, we won!"

Thierry Douillard, crewman:
"You should never give up in the Tour de France à la Voile, because it's so long. You can always recover, as we have proven. We had some ups and downs along the way, but we were able to react. We never gave up, and François, Xavier, Matthieu, Fred and I sailed a very clean race. That was our main strength. We have a great team on the water and ashore, including Aymeric, our osteopath, and without the team I would not have been able to do the entire Tour.”

Matthieu Vandame, crewman:
"It was a long, difficult Tour, but it was a blessing to have such a wonderful team who were able to pull together through the difficulties and work as a unit all the way to the finish. It's my first Tour win because I only race multihulls, so victory tastes very sweet."

Frédéric Moreau, crewman:
"It was a pleasure to join a team like Spindrift racing, where everyone is fully committed and performs their task so well. It was easy for me to join the team when everything was so well organised. We have some very good sailors on the water. We were also helped by our mindset. Even through the tough times we pulled together and always believed we could do it.”

Stéphane Guilbaud, General Manager of Spindrift racing:
"It was a tough Tour from start to finish, but despite everything, we achieved our goal. The difficulties we encountered along the way will make us even stronger and faster in our future endeavours.”
