Sébastien Marsset discovered sailing as a teenager. He obtained his national sailing certificate at the French National Sailing School in Quiberon, helped to prepare a Class 40 for the 2006 Route du Rhum, then competed on the Mini circuit. Sébastien joined the Groupama sailing team when their Jules Verne Trophy preparations were in full swing, and was part of the team’s successful Volvo Ocean Race campaign, an experience he would repeat three years later with Team Alvimedica (USA).
He has also worked with Spindrift racing, first as a MOD70 grinder, then as a technician responsible for the fittings on Spindrift 2. Combining technical and physical power, Sebastien showcased all his skills in the winter of 2015/16 as bowman in the Jules Verne Trophy.
This experience and these qualities are ideally suited to the intense racing of the World Match Racing Tour, where he will be part of Yann’s 2017 team.
