Sébastien Soupey, July 4, 1994
Although he grew up on the Ile de France, Sébastien would holiday in Brittany each year, which led him, at the age of 12, to discover sailing. He rapidly began to enjoy both the technical and performance aspects of the sport and such became the dedication of this young movie fan to the sport, that he used to practice on a trampoline so that he could improve his chances of succeeding in sailing. Once he completed his science baccalaureate, he set his sights on an engineering school in Bordeaux, with the hope of joining a large professional sailing team. At the same time, he started taking part in sailing competitions and in 2018 finished 4th in the SB20 world championships in Hobart.
As a newly graduated engineer, he joined the Tour de France and the Route du Rhum as a preparatuer and, in early 2019 joined the Spindrift racing design office. He is in charge of boat optimisation and performance analysis and his happy nature and passion for sailing bring great energy to the whole team.
