Thierry Duprey

Born April 2nd 1970 in Paris 20e
Lives in Cancale (35)

Born in Paris, Thierry is a born competitor who started out as an elite runner. He discovers sailing on Lake Annecy at the age of 20. Within four years he was crossing the Atlantic and regularly escorting boats between Europe and the West Indies aboard tall ships, maxi trimarans and catamarans. He began multihull offshore racing when Baron de Rothschild asked him to skipper his trimaran. The calm and methodical Frenchman has earned his place aboard some of the most famous ocean-going trimarans, all the while acquiring a wealth of experience. He was part of the crew that last took the Jules Verne Trophy, aboard Banque Populaire V – later rechristened Spindrift 2 – of which he is now the boat captain, the captain’s right-hand man.
