Antoine Rucard

Born: Brest, 30th September 1994
Lives: Lorient, France

The young Breton first started sailing at Plouguerneau School and soon realised, after a couple of lessons in the Optimist, that sailing was going to be the focus in his life.  He moved to multihulls and joined the youth catamaran programme offered by the French Sailing Federation.  He then won the prestigious trails for Team France Jeune.  This gave him three years of exceptional opportunities sailing on the most innovative flying boats of the time (Flying Phantom, GC32, AC45 ...). During the Red Bull Youth America's Cup, which took place in Bermuda in parallel with the 34th edition of the America's Cup, he rubbed shoulders with the biggest international teams. Back in France, he competed in the Diam24 circuit several times, winning a second place in 2019 with the Cheminées Poujoulat crew in the Tour de France.

As one of the first generation of sailors that has acquired their skills mainly on foiling boats, Antoine has gained a lot of experience and mastered these boats, which make him an asset to the TF35 Spindrift racing crew.
