Spindrift racing runners-up in Trofeo di Roma

This evening, the penultimate event of the 2015 Bullitt GC32 Racing Tour came to an end. Five hydrofoil catamarans took part in the four-day event off Italy's Mediterranean coast. Despite fairly light winds blowing across the waters in Civitavecchia, the race committee were able to stage 18 races during the event. Spindrift racing finished in second place, behind Sultanate of Oman.

Skipper Yann Guichard looked back on the event: “Finishing second after four days of racing is a good result. Sultanate of Oman was the most consistent boat during the event, so congratulations to them. We had two great days on the water, and one day that was not so good, with some speed issues. The key in this event was the start and the rounding of the first buoy. We've finished in second place at all three events on this year's Bullitt Racing Tour. We may have had less sailing time than some of the other teams, but we're still in the game. We hope there'll be a bit more wind for the final stage in Marseille. Oman have a strong lead, but it's still pretty close between us and Alinghi. It promises to be an exciting season finale".

Spindrift racing were lying third after the event in Kiel, and have maintained their podium position after their first event on the Italian Riviera. The final event of the season will be Marseille One Design, which will take place in Marseille from September 30th to October 3rd.
