Best performance

Jules Verne Trophy record, 2012, in 45 days, 13 hours and 42 minutes

Since 2001 Thierry Chabagny has developed his skills in solo and monohull sailing in the Figaro class, and has progressed to be a thorough and demanding sailor – traits that are common to all successful ‘figaristes’. He has competed in no less than 16 Solitaire du Figaro, the renowned solo race, often securing positions high up the fleet. An accomplished sportsman, he finished second in the 2006 Solitaire du Figaro, his best result for this event, and won the Transat AG2R in 2016. In order to broaden his skillset, progress and remain at the highest level of the sport, whilst still being able to compete in the Figaro season, he sailed with Michel Desjoyeaux on the MOD70, and was a crew member on Banque Populaire V alongside Loïck Peyron when it won the Jules Verne Trophy in 2012. With this record now broken by Francis Joyon in 2016, Thierry will be back onboard to try and regain the record and live this unforgettable adventure.
